If you didn't already know, California has been ravaged by wildfires for a couple months now. UP Cycle Design wants to help out with this, and we are currently thinking about launching a campaign to assist in any way we can. In the meantime, here are some organizations that are currently battling the wildfires; potential partners of our campaign.
Cal Fire
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is an organization that responds to all sorts of fire-related emergencies. Since the start of the current wave of wildfires, one can imagine that they've had their hands full responding to and containing the wildfires. Check out this link where they post any updates regarding fire-related incidents.
CCF Wildlife Relief Fund
One that is near and dear to my heart, helping out the wildlife that has been affected by the wildfires. As a subsidiary of the World Wildlife Fund, their main focus is wildlife, of course. However, in the wake of this current disaster, the CCF WRF is helping to rebuild homes, provide mental health and medical care, and provide financial assistance. Firefighters Charitable Foundation
Another organization that hits close to home. I'm not a firefighter myself, but many in my family are members of their local fire department. It's pretty clear how this organization is helping with the California wildfires, but like all others, they are also in need of support and funding to keep doing what they are doing. Check out the Firefighter's Charitable Foundation website to see how you can support them, or call 516-249-0332 to support the firefighters of California directly.
