Kaitlin Schwemmer
Ruff Knots
Kaitlin Schwemmer, the creator of Ruff Knots, is a Pre-Veterinary Student at UD, and involved in the Delaware Innovation Fellowship program. She is involved in The Seeing Eye puppy raising program and has raised 2 dogs so far- Jane, who is guiding in Wisconsin, and Apex, who is in formal training. Ruff Knots was created as a way to help alleviate the textile crisis by creating upcycled dog toys.
Cole Fiory
PhillyPlastiCo
Cole Fiory founded PhillyPlastiCo during the pandemic when he saw all our recycling getting thrown in the trash trucks. This eventually led him to discover Precious Plastic, a global open source organization & community looking to empower people to make new things out of 100% Recycled Plastic. Cole then took his background and Degree in Architecture and Design to come up with a line of useful and durable products made from Recycled Plastic that are designed to last a lifetime.

Emily Kisner
EmK'sCrochets
Emily Kisner is a Computer Science and Data Science student at Mount St. Mary’s University. She is involved in Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the Honors Society for Computing Disciplines and is a member of her University Honors Program. She spends much of her free time working on her hobbies, including crocheting. She loves to work with different yarn fibers, especially upcycled fibers that help keep textiles out of landfills. Portions from the sale of her items benefit the American Heart Association, a charity close to her heart. Her mother was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect in 2005 and Emily has hoped to give back to the people who saved her mother’s life since.
